Happy was founded by a small team of psychologists, psychiatrists, behavioral scientists, and lawyers with roots in the Princeton psychology department — united by a simple but long-overdue idea: mental health support should not require people to take a single step.

We found visionary partners in the Air Force, the largest Medicaid plan, and the largest hospital system in the country — who helped turn that idea into real-world, large-scale implementation.

We’ve spent tens of thousands of hours studying how people from all walks of life — single parents, school teachers, ER nurses, F-16 pilots — experience emotional connection.
